After the Storm #amilikey

 Greetings Bloggers!!!!

At this point, you already know what my deal is so just hit me up on Instagram for more up-to-date events. I am super grateful hurricane 🌀 Ian shifted from a direct impact on Tampa Bay, because I'll admit it we were not prepared.

In my humble opinion, Tampa Bay is a metropolitan area with a lot more apartment residents than home owners: which implies the population is at a higher risk rate for disaster recovery. Homeowners have the advantage of paying for homeowners insurance for damages, but most likely if apartment tenants can't afford a mortgage than clearly they don't have insurance on their household goods ( furniture, appliances, etc.) Structurally speaking there is also less resources to safe proof the building from hurricane winds, because apartment tenants aren't going to boarder up their windows with plywood.

Also, apartments don't have backup generators nor do they offer the same level of safety that a house can offer a family. All in all, I am grateful this storm landed elsewhere just based on the statistical analysis I just provided factually speaking. I continue to pray for those that were impacted directly and lost everything. The best case scenario would have been that the storm never made landfall anywhere, unfortunately that was not an option.

The only thing I lost was my wages from missing work for two days. Apparently, this storm was not compensated by the corporate greed as usual and because we had to close down the facility for two days: they only offered for us to use our PTO time ( like that somehow seemed faired; closing for natural events is not out fault so why would we have to waste our PTO on something we didn't choose to miss).

During the 48 hours of the storm, I rested a lot and did absolutely nothing productive which I do regret a little bit. People in our community weren't bothered by the storm physically, but their close friends and family near the south of Florida that were impacted did have an impact on them emotionally. I definitely embrace being a helping hand and if given the personal resources I'd volunteer to help out in the recovery. My local church collected a love recovery offering for the families in need and I was able to participate in that collection at least with a small amount of monetary funds.

Again, no storm whether it be a physical one like this hurricane 🌀 or a personal storm like a health crisis is something anyone would want to endure; however, I am grateful to be okay in order to keep sharing my words of encouragement. Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post. Never forget that you're not a mistake despite your many failures and poor choices in life. God loves you and has a beautiful future for you if you let Him enter your life. Take care of yourself and keep up the good work.

Xoxo,

Ana 😊😉
